ACU (Army Combat Uniform)

Introduced in the early 2000's, the ACU (Army Combat Uniform) is current United States Army forces battle uniform, consisting of combat shirt and cargo trousers, and the successor to both the classic Battle Dress Uniform (BDU) and Desert Camouflage Uniform (DCU). Comparing to its predecessors it features a number of significant design changes along with a different camouflage, with UCP camo being its official pattern, although the MultiCam version was also issued lately. Among many improvements applied in the ACU trousers are two thigh storage pockets, tilted forward for easy access and with elastic drawstring and Velcro for closure when on the move, two calf storage pockets (one on each leg) with a Velcro closure, as well as Velcro pouches designed for knee pad inserts

BDU (Battle Dress Uniform)

the Battle Dress Uniform was used by the U.S. Armed Forces as their standard uniform for warfare situations from the early 1980s to the mid-2000s. Reminiscent of the Vietnam-era jungle fatigues, the BDU trousers and combat shirt first appeared in September 1981 in now classic Woodland camouflage pattern, and soon replaced all earlier camouflage pattern uniforms for all wooded, jungle and tropical environments
